Despite continuous liberal media spin to the contrary, and four years of attacks, the president has still found it in himself to deliver on his promises. He provided a continued plan for optimism and detailed positive actions for moving our great country forward. His speech sought to both energize his supporters while soliciting new ones. While his speech was long, it was 70 minutes of refreshing truth, not rhetoric without substance. This was spoken from an American patriot who had to clearly lay out his case for re-election, carefully address the opposition’s unfounded attacks toward him, lay out his detailed plan for our country and describe each contrasting viewpoint that will define our country’s future. Why? Because this was not a typical political speech. I am hopeful that in the short term, enough factual evidence will come to light through our judicial system, to help those on-the-fence voters see a clearer path to voting for a real democratic union.įollowing President Trump’s closing convention speech, Fox News commentators said his speech lacked enthusiasm. Over the years, I’ve lived in several countries, totalitarian and autocratic among them. I found this fictional scenario interesting reading, but certainly not part of my reality. The book 1984, by George Orwell, was compulsory reading in my school days. Whether you cast your vote during early voting, in person at the poles, or with mail-in ballots, please do exercise your right and responsibility as a citizen, by voting! As indicated in the 2016 and some prior elections, the candidates who lead in political polls, may well lose, because polls measure people’s thinking, not what they are going to do or not do.ĭon’t think that your vote is meaningless, because every vote is critical! Remember, the people we elect to office, are supposed to represent all of us, not do only as their supporters, financial backers, leaders and party dictate. I am dismayed and angry at the poor turnout of people who should accept their responsibilities as citizens of our great nation, by participating in the electoral process.
